For the unrivaled honeymoon experience, finding a hotel with a dedicated honeymoon suite is a wonderful choice. After all, since you spent so much time and effort on planning that perfect wedding and memorable reception, it is only right that you also want your honeymoon to be memorable and as close to perfect as possible. To this end many an upscale hotel will offer newlyweds the option of renting the honeymoon suite.
In times past it was the heart shaped tub or the bed with the supposedly risqu? red satin sheets that would cause a stir of whispers for those who were planning on renting it, but since then many hotels have upgraded and their honeymoon suites are no longer as dramatically tacky as that. Sure, you will still find the occasional heart shaped Jacuzzi, but by and large the extras you will find in the honeymoon suite are a bigger bed, an extra sitting room that is divided off from the bedroom, and a bathtub that is big enough for two people.
Some hotels will provide complimentary champagne, chocolate, strawberries, or even room service with the rental of the room. Others offer a honeymoon suite package which not only includes the upgraded room, but also vouchers for a romantic dinner at the hotel?s own restaurant, a complimentary drink at the bar, and perhaps even a spa treatment at the hands of a skilled masseuse.
This option alone makes for a most coveted special addition to many a honeymooner?s itinerary and you will be wise to price various packages to ensure you are getting a good deal. Sadly, you will find that many hotels ? especially the smaller ones ? are phasing out the traditional honeymoon suite since it provides a uni-task room that cannot be rented unless a honeymooning couple requires it. Therefore a lot of rentable real estate remains empty, adversely affecting the budget of the operation. It is wise to no longer assume that a venue offers special honeymoon accommodations and instead ask prior to booking.
If all else fails, remember that you can create the same kind of ambiance and atmosphere yourself at the hotel of your choice. Ask your wedding planner for some suggestions or, if you are going it alone, consider the things you find romantic and what your mate may find romantic as well. Put together a CD of your best loved songs that have meaning for both of you as a couple, bring along some champagne and chocolate, pack some rose petals in a bag, do not forget a lightly scented vanilla candle, and also bring a bunch of tea lights which you might be able to use to set the mood. Do not forget to bring some conservative yet pretty lingerie for her and a pair of silken pajamas for him, and you are well on your way to giving that room a very romantic feel!
