Rent A House For Vacation

More and more people are making the decision to take their vacations into their own hands and explore the option of taking their holiday in a rented beach home or apartment. If you never vacationed this way before there are plenty of resources available to you in your search. One of the reasons so many people choose this type of accommodation is the convenience and privacy that hotels and motels simply can’t offer. Many of these properties are surrounded by gracious resorts that can make your vacation planning simple. You wouldn’t even necessarily have to leave the area to enjoy all of the activities in your itinerary.

For first time vacation rental buyers, it can seem rather complicated to find the exact rental property for you. Luckily there are all kinds of places to look and professionals you can call on. If you already know the location you wish to visit, how many people are going to be in your party, and the amount of money you wish to spend a rental agency can help you find the perfect match. For convenience sake, find an agency in the area you plan to go. They will more than likely have first hand knowledge of the quality of the places they offer. You can always contact a travel agency as well for information about how to rent a house for your vacation time.

Another place to begin your house vacation hunting process is in local newspapers or regional or national magazines. With this option you will more than likely be dealing with the owner personally. This is a great option if you want to visit a more local vacation spot. Many retirees and others have vacation properties relatively close to home and are more than happy to rent it out when they aren’t using it. Of course this method also works when you plan to travel quite a distance to your dream vacation destination. Be sure to carefully look over your rental agreement before confirming without the help of a professional if you go this route.

Unless you live under a rock, the chances are good you have noticed how much information is up for grabs on the Internet. It doesn’t take much effort to find all kinds of information about vacation rental homes with a quick search engine search. The more detailed you make your search phrase the more detailed information will pop up. It’s kind of like one stop shopping. The websites you find will give you plenty of detail about the amenities of the place, contact information, and possibly a frequently asked questions page to help you make an informed decision.

As you can see, there are enough resources about beach vacation home rentals available to keep you busy for quite some time. Don’t get so wrapped up in the details and many available spots that you forget to book somewhere. With all of these resources you and your party will be heading to paradise before you know it.

Wine Travel: America’s First Wine Trail

Thursday 31 January 2008 @ 5:40 am
by Jim Hofman

America’s fascinating wine making history is rooted in the efforts of European immigrants, who brought their skills to America throughout the 1800’s. Long before California and other west coast wine producing states were settled, other areas of the country were busy producing wines from native grape vines growing in the wild. In the 1830’s, a group of German immigrants settled in the Missouri river valley, about an hour west of St. Louis near the present historic town of Hermann, Missouri.

These early settlers noted how the topography and climate of the river valley resembled their European home areas of Germany and Switzerland. In particular, various grape varieties were growing wild on hillsides surrounding Hermann, prompting founding fathers and town leaders to encourage further cultivation and ultimately, wine making. After a few short years, the prolific grape crop merged with the settler’s wine making skills, and America’s first wine district was born.

Ever since then, wine making in one form or another has continued in this picturesque Missouri river valley location. Complete with historic villages and temperate climate, the Hermann Wine Trail has become an up and coming destination for wine travel. Stretching from New Haven, MO on the east to the historic village of Hermann on the west, the area is now home to seven wineries encompassing a mere 20 miles.

Missouri has long been known for deep, rich red wines typically produced from traditional grape varieties such as Norton and Chambourcin. Wineries in this area use these native grapes to develop award winning varietes of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignons, and Burgundy styles. But these wineries aren’t all about reds, as winemakers on this wine trail also produce clean and delightfully crisp styles like rieslings and chardonels.

Most visitors to this area embark on their journey from St. Louis. From the city, it’s only 75 minutes at most to the wine district via Interstate 44 and Highway 100. The first stop on the eastern end of the wine trail is the town of New Haven, MO, home of historic Robller Vineyard and Winery. Robller offers an absolutely spectacular view of the valley, along with several varieties of wine you’ll want to try and take home from their friendly tasting room.

Traveling west from New Haven, you’ll encounter the Bommarito Almond Tree Winery, a family owned estate winery. Try their award winning port and other offerings. Further west, you’ll find a unique winery and microbrewery combination, Bias Vineyards and Winery. Only the second such operation in the U.S., Bias produces a blush wine we especially enjoyed, River Blush Rouge.

As you reach the Hermann area, you’ll discover four thriving wineries offering the chance to try Missouri wine. Stone Hill, Oakglenn, Adam Puchta, and Hermannhof wineries all offer wine tasting, winery tours, and scenic views. Take time to savor the offerings at each. Among those we particularly enjoyed were Oakglenn’s spicy Chambourcin and Stone Hill’s Vidal Blanc. Stone Hill and Hermannhof are other must stops, not only for their fine wines but also for their historic settings.

The western end of the wine trail is punctuated by the picturesque town of Hermann, MO. This is a town you’ll really enjoy - historic architecture, local restaurants, and specialty shops galore. It’s a perfect place to spend the night and participate in one of their many local events, several devoted to enjoyment of wine. Also, for the fitness buff within you, Hermann is also known for its easy access to the Katy Bike Trail which winds through the Missouri river valley. There are ample lodging options and delectable German/Swiss restaurants offering a perfect complement to local wines.

When it comes to you booking your Trinidad & Tobago holiday villas there are certainly things that you should be looking for to ensure that you find the right one. In many cases, what you will find when booking such vacation accommodation is that it is cheaper than you staying in a hotel.

In this article, we offer below a few tips that will help you to find and then book the right sort of holiday villa. Not only can these be used when booking villas in Trinidad & Tobago but for other holiday rental accommodation the world over.

Tip 1 - If you can look for those, which have been recommended by others who have previously travelled and rented the accommodation before. So look for those properties where they are willing to provide you with any comments, feedback or reviews written by previous clients of theirs.

Tip 2 - Before you make that all important booking spend some time, carry out further research in relation to the villa that you wish to rent. If you can try and arrange to speak directly with the owners of the property as they are more willing to tell you what you want to hear and also ask if they can forward further photographs of the property for you to view. Getting these additional photographs rather than just those that have been posted on the site will often give you a much clearer view of whether this is the right property for your vacation or not.

Tip 3 - Along with learning, more about the property you need to find out just exactly where the property is located. Why spend all that money on a fantastic villa for two weeks only to find that you are not close enough to all the attractions that are on offer. Also, check to see whether you will require some form of transport during your stay.

Tip 4 - When starting to look for a villa to rent on Trinidad & Tobago the sooner you start this the better. Otherwise, you may find that when it comes to booking the accommodation you want the period that you want it for has already been taken. Another good reason for booking as early as possible is that you may find that you get a further discount provided to you on the cost of renting the property.

Tip 5 - Another important thing that you should be doing before you book any holiday homes or villas is read through the terms and conditions of the rental. If you do this then you will be aware of any untoward expenses that you may incur before, during and after the vacation. Also, you will then be aware of what would happen if you need to actually cancel, your booking and this could end up saving you a lot of money as well.
